The project for the relaunch and development of Kennedy Road is ready.
Lafert hosted the Press Conference for signing the agreement between the Mayor of San Donà di Piave’s Municipality Andrea Cereser, and Confindustria Venezia represented by Vice President Mirco Viotto, on behalf of the twenty companies involved in the revamping of Kennedy Road.
The technical and economic feasibility project is ready for the relaunch and development of Kennedy Road, a crucial node of the industrial area of San Donà. The results will give greater security and increase liveability for workers and customers of the many companies that populate the industrial area. Lafert is at the forefront of contributing to the rebuilding of Road, the historic home of the Group's headquarters.
"Since its acquisition in 2018, I have had the honour of working with a team of talented and very united people in the large Lafert family. Sumitomo will continue to strengthen the deep bond between Lafert and its territory through initiatives and investments that involve people and their well-being, giving substance to the value that has guided the company for 60 years until today: the person at the center." – Shaun Dean, CEO of Lafert Group.
Safety is fundamental in a territory like that of San Donà’s Municipality which is half below the sea level. The commitment between Lafert Group and the Municipality was born in February 2021 to find and support solutions that can secure the territory and contribute to the development of the area by promoting the well-being of workers. The agreement provides that the urbanization charges occurred by the companies located in Via Kennedy will be allocated to improvements in the industrial area.
What the project provides.
Twenty companies in the area have already incurred the costs of the technical project presented to the Municipality and will contribute to its realization with the payment of urbanization charges; in detail the project involves the renovation of the lighting by introducing LED lamps, the reconstruction of the road surface, a new roundabout, the creation of a cycle path that can also connect the adjacent countries, and the substantial increase in the number of parking lots in the area.
The largest part of the project will not be available immediately, although it is fundamental for the future maintenance of the area and therefore for the optimization of the investment: the construction plan for the underground service network that requires more than half of the entire project budget. There are numerous calls to which the Municipality will adhere to redeveloping the Venetian hinterland and creating commuter cycling routes.
