May is set to be a month full of events for the world of Lifts & Escalators. Indeed, the biennial WEE Show (World Elevators & Escalators) will be held in Shanghai from the 10th to the 13th of May, whilst LIFTEX, the leading UK show held every three years and hosting international exhibitors and visitors, will take place on the 25th and the 26th of May in London.

According to Gearless Machines Sales Manager Abder Sadouk, “WEE Shanghai is the world’s largest trade fair devoted to lifts, with more than 700 exhibitors from 22 different countries – an international platform to launch new products and new technologies for global clients. In this regard, Lafert will present its range of gearless machines designed to take up less space, ensure greater safety and use up to 75% less energy. Thanks to their smaller diameter and compact design, Lafert motors are lighter and quieter compared to other units currently on the market. This is a huge advantage, as it means Lafert motors can be installed in the lift shaft without obstructing the movement of the car, negating the need for a machine room. There are also additional benefits when replacing hydraulic or geared systems as there is no oil to leak therefore improving safety, aesthetics and dramatically reducing any risk of contamination or fire.”

"The Lafert gearless range includes machines for both commercial and domestic lifts. All motors up to and including our T32L series with a maximum load of 1275 kg and with a 2:1 roping ratio or 800 kg with a 1:1 roping ratio come with the NETEC certification for the Chinese market. Options” says Sadouk “include double braking systems for greater safety thus eliminating manual brakes and allowing for easier maintenance. Further options include adding induction sensors for demanding applications and ASME A17- compliant cURus brakes for North America.”

These trade shows will be a key international showcase. At last year’s edition of WEE Shanghai, we established a number of contacts and most of them developed into collaborations and partnerships. In a rapidly growing market like the lift industry, providing competitive and yet innovative products and services through a strong network is crucial. We expect”, says the Sales Manager, “to achieve excellent results, not just in markets showing constant growth like Turkey, Iran and Greece, but also in the rest of the world. Indeed, Lafert is now an internationally renowned and respected brand that is synonymous with quality and excellence.”
