Ex-stock availability is now offered by Lafert for its HPS high efficiency permanent magnet motors - a first for any European motor manufacturer. Motors can now be despatched at short notice for application and development projects. Stocks of the HPS in standard IEC frames are currently held at Lafert's French premises in Lyon.
Lafert's new HPS is a motor designed for OEMs and for energy retrofit projects, and can be engineered to match specific application requirements - more than 90% of the company's production is non-standard. It is a combination of the company's in-house expertise in both permanent magnet servo and AC motor technologies and it delivers efficiencies to meet the proposed IE4 requirements. The higher efficiency offered by the HPS has resulted in up to 50% weight reduction and smaller frame sizes.
Following joint development work with Danfoss Drives, the two Companies have recognised each other as Preferred Partners within PM Motors for HVAC applications. While Lafert will supply motors at short notice ex-stock, Danfoss match the short delivery time with PM motor settings/parameters. At customer requests, Lafert will provide its high efficiency motor for the Danfoss EC+ HVAC drive technology programme.
Maximum advantage of the HPS's high efficiency is obtained from continuous running duties with variable demands, such as fan, pump, conveyor and compressor applications with control provided via a sensorless drive.
Motors to be stocked at Lyon are 1.1kW to 18.5kW @ 1800rpm and up to 5.5kW @ 3600rpm (full range covers 0,55kW to 30kW).
