A NEW DESIGN FOR THE BIG FAN RANGE

Lafert has developed a completely new design for the Big Fan - IFM (Integrated Fan Motor) range within a target period of one year. "The product, including the electronics, was developed by a dedicated team of designers specialised in industrial applications. The result - says Mattia Calanchi, Operation Manager of Lafert Servo Drives - can be considered a design with a distinctive appeal, in fact it will be attractive not only to the industrial sector but also to the commercial and civil sectors."

The main area of application for this motor is industrial ventilation within the farming and commercial sector. "Specifically, - the Operation Manager continues - this motor has two purposes: ventilation in the summer, ensuring a more comfortable temperature in large spaces such as lobbies or production warehouses (usually without air conditioning), and air destratifying in the winter. This system allows significant savings, since the hot air that naturally tends to rise upwards is instead conveyed downwards to where the operators are located."

"In addition, the use of permanent magnet motors makes the package (drive, motor and fan) more compact, since it eliminates any gearbox this allows the fan speed to be managed according to any temperature control requirements. A major advantage of using permanent magnet motors is their high efficiency,  - Calanchi explains - so by adopting the total system significant energy savings can be had for the end user."

"Once again, the Lafert motor is aimed at a high-end market and, in particular, at a very specific segment for HVLS (High Volume Low Speed) applications, offering an outstanding efficiency performance,” Calanchi concludes.
