Lafert has completely redesigned its range of asynchronous motors to accommodate the increasing demand for higher efficiency from regulations and customer demand. Mechanical and electrical characteristics were considered along with the dimensional aspects of the motor.

The need to guarantee increasingly higher efficiency levels called for some work on the design of our entire asynchronous range. We seized the opportunity to improve some aspects to give the motor greater operational appeal.

Studying the full symmetric design of the body (Full Symmetric Body – FSB) enabled us to perform a rotation around the longitudinal and vertical axis and provide the widest range of assembly positions for the terminal box. Plus, a square shape fits perfectly with the general concept.

With a new design of the feet and staggered supports for the screws fastening the end-shields to the stator body, an improved access to the flange fastening screws is provided (Easy Mounting System – EMS). This is now completely unrestricted whilst maintaining the extensive versatility in the positioning of the terminal box. It was essential that the terminal box remained rotatable by 90 degree steps on all four aspects and provide easy access to the cable entries.

Finally, the innovative design of the fan cover is an element that improves the system and gives it a final aesthetic touch. Its structure takes into account the operating requirements associated with the air flow, whilst highlighting the key features of the object. The crucial feature lies in the 4 grooves that connect the cooling vents to the coupling points on the stator body, which adds to its distinctive design.

The lines of the motor create a product that fully blends in, conveying elegance and style, as well as power and flexibility.

The new range has been created in partnership with Miquadra Industrial Design and will be previewed at Hannover Messe held from 25 to 29 April 2016. We shall be showcasing our IEC 100 model, which, in addition to achieving the power and performance level of a IEC 112 motor, fully complies with the efficiency requirements of the recent update to US NEMA Premium/EISA standards due to come into force on 1 June 2016.
