On February 2nd, the new training course will begin, involving some students of the Vito Volterra Higher Technical Institute of San Donà di Piave and our Lafert colleagues. The course, through specialized lessons held by Lafert's engineers and department managers, will make it possible to integrate classroom training with the traditional internship by offering a more complete path within the PTCO initiatives (paths for transversal skills and orientation).
The project: theoretical and laboratory training
The 22 students selected from the fourth classes of the Electrotechnics and Automation course of the Volterra Institute will enter the heart of an international manufacturing company and will have the opportunity to learn from the professionals who work at Lafert. From 2 February to the end of April, our colleagues will work with the students to discuss the topic of "synchronous permanent magnet motor's technology", which represent one of Lafert's excellence both in terms of quality and energy saving. We want to pass on our passion to young generation by transferring some of our know-how to them. The students will learn about the specifications of permanent magnet motors, their applications, the internal production processes and the characteristics of our market.
Through the presentation of some of the most fascinating case histories, we will tell the applications and results obtained thanks to our motors through the analysis of market needs and the technical characteristics of the specific solutions we offer. The students will also be able to experience the prototyping and validation phases together with our engineers with concrete laboratory tests. 2
"This is the first time that together with the Volterra Institute we have created such a broad training program that will allow students to put into practice the studies they are facing. Specifically, the project will see the students and our colleagues engaged in 14 hours of theory, 4 hours of practice between laboratory and visit to our plants in San Donà di Piave" – Silvia Salvador, Recruitment Officer - HR.
Our colleagues who are actively involved in the definition of the program and who will interface with the students come from different departments: R&D, Operations, IT and Sales. In this way, students will have a complete view of the life cycle of a product at Lafert and will gain concrete experience of the world of work.
We support young people by creating opportunities for professional training
The project with the Volterra Institute is part of the activities that we are implementing every year dedicated to young people who study and enter the world of work in our area. Our Corporate Social Responsibility includes a concrete commitment to training by actively participating in meetings and orientation activities.
For some time, we have been creating collaborations with local technical institutes because for us young people are our future: we want to involve them by supporting their professional growth, stimulating and actively participating in the acquisition of transversal skills but also to understand their needs and expectations from the world of work.
