For the first time Lafert will be attending the Venice Biennale of Architecture, one of the most prominent events worldwide, with 63 national participations and 88 participants from 37 countries. This year’s edition is entitled "Reporting from the front" and will be held from 28th May to 27th November in various venues throughout Venice.
Lafert will be in the Venice Pavilion as part of “UP! Marghera on stage”: a redevelopment and environmental compatibility project for Marghera’s industrial area created by young artists, photographers, architects and designers. The Venice Pavilion will showcase suggestions and ideas that will guide visitors through a new dimension, that of possible dreams, by using a video projector to screen images and videos of supporter companies and a futuristic Marghera.
The vision offered by the Venice Pavilion is captured in the word chosen to represent it: “UP!”, looking upwards, towards the hoped-for redevelopment of this extraordinary area. A future open to invention.
In recent years the focus on product innovation and customisation led Lafert to tackle an often overlooked challenge in the engineering industry: the design, the uniqueness, the distinguishing features of the product and conveying its identity, clearly to highlight functionality, high performance and efficiency.
Pursuing this additional way of enhancing the product led Lafert to sponsor the Venice Pavilion at the 2016 Biennale, a space designed and intended as an area with a positive vibe and synchronies for the revival of Marghera, the true future front of the Urban Area and Italian industry.
